The Adventure Begins

The Adventure Begins

When you think of Castle Steps, what comes to mind? Medieval knights? A damsel in distress? A dragon needing to be slain? When I think of Castle Steps I think of the beginning of a journey. That is exactly how I would describe walking through the doors of Castle Steps, a Virtual Reality Arcade and Development Studio.

Don’t let the name fool you. Castle Steps utilizes the most updated and innovative virtual reality technology to allow for consumers to get the most immersive gaming experience imaginable.

The conception of Castle Steps was a journey itself. The company was founded by brothers Bryce and Evan Davis alongside their childhood friend, Gehrig Gosselin. The three quickly realized the value and future of this emerging market. They began networking and getting involved in all things VR. The team entered the industry as consumers and quickly became creators. The three developed The Bellows, a VR Horror Game. The eerie background music, smooth animation, and vivid textures put any Horror Movie to shame. Trust me! You haven’t experienced true horror until you’ve put on the headset and voyaged into dark and morbid world that is The Bellows. You can turn away from a Horror Movie. You can’t turn away from Virtual Reality.

Beyond growing their business, the team wants to grow the exposure of Virtual Reality to the masses. One of the most difficult things for consumers to understand is: What is Virtual Reality? Merriam-Webster defines virtual reality as “an artificial environment which is experienced through sensory stimuli (such as sights and sounds) provided by a computer and in which one’s actions partially determine what happens in the environment” . This lackluster explanation makes Virtual Reality seem unappealing when you add the technical jargon. What is Virtual Reality to me? Virtual Reality is the closest we have ever come to actually becoming a video game character. Virtual Reality makes YOU the controller. Virtual Reality makes video games fun for ANYONE, even if you’re a noob. Virtual Reality is ONE headset with a million experiences.

Who is Virtual Reality For? In my opinion, anyone with a pulse and for some without. I think that’s a decent segue into their most recent project “L.A. Deadzone”, a first-person zombie shooter. The game and technology permits the gamer to freely roam their 900 square foot space. More on this in future blogs!

A Virtual Reality Arcade by gamers for everyone! From their customer service in their arcade to the original content they developed, Castle Steps is fully invested in the future of Virtual Reality!
